Pollyanna McIntosh

Pollyanna McIntosh is a native of Scotland. She was raised in Portugal, Colombia and then returned to Scotland. It was here that she began to perform on stage in The Edinburgh Festival. When she was 16, she moved to London and was soon involved in the indie filmmaking (her first job paid for was as an actor in Irvine Welsh's The Acid House (1998)) and theatre and acting as both an actress and director. In 2004, she moved to Los Angeles in 2004 brought new theatre opportunities, including a production of "The Woolgatherer", in which she was director Anne Dudek (a regular on Mad Men (2007)/Big Love (2006)) and David Dayan Fisher (a regular on 24 (2001)/NCIS (2003)) to great reviews. In Headspace (2005) the actress landed her first US movie part as "Stacy" who was a manipulative person who was a newly-baptized Christian. It was in the role of crazy "Thumper Wint" in the comedy, Sex and Death 101 (2007) (Simon Baker and Winona Ryder) directed created by Heathers (1988) writer Daniel Waters, that the public began to notice of her talents, citing an unbeatable blend of strong sexuality and hilarious humor. Exam (2009), which was shot in London and LA is her next film. It was nominated for Outstanding British Debut by the BAFTA and was awarded the Santa Barbara Film Fest's Best Independent Award. The film's critics praised Pollyanna's ability to "emotionally vulnerability" her powerful, sassy character. GQ simply said that Pollyanna McIntosh was a gorgeous actress and an "extraordinarily talented actor". Como Quien No Quiere La Cosa (2013) (As if you Don't Like it! ), is a hilarious South American farce in which she is Brit comedian Trevor Lock's disgruntled wife. Filmed in Peru She speaks Spanish throughout. John Landis directs Burke and Hare (2010). She is Isla Fisher's bestie along with Andy Serkis and Jessica Hynes and Tom Wilkinson. Her intense performance as the lead role in Lucky McKee's The Woman (2011) made an impact at Sundance 2011. The film garnered rave reviews and topped the New York Times readers' top films poll. She was awarded three Best Actress nominations, including Total Film’s Frightfest Award as well as Fright Meter's.
