Rose McGowan

"Rose" McGowan (born on the 5th of September 1973) is an American
actress and activist. McGowan made her debut film debut in 1992 in Encino Man
(1992), and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award nomination in 1995
for her role in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995). Her breakthrough
role came in the film horror Scream in the year 1996. She then headlined the
films Jawbreaker (1999) as well as Devil in the Flesh (2000). McGowan was most
well-known for her role in Charmed the supernatural drama on WB from 2001 to
the year 2006. McGowan was also the main character in Quentin Tarantino and
Robert Rodriguez's double-feature film Grindhouse (2007) and for which she
received nominations both for the Saturn Award as Best Actress and for the
Scream Award as Best Scream Queen. Her debut album, Planet 9, was released in
2018. It was followed by a re-release of Planet 9 in 2020. McGowan was honored
by Time as the Silence Breakers, the magazine’s Person of the Year for 2017.
She made a statement about harassment and sexual assault and in particular the
Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases. In 2018, she released Brave, a memoir, and
was a part of Citizen Rose, a four-part documentary series.
