Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her distinctive hairstyle and her pumped up personality, provides the basics of cooking that any person can master. Chef Burrell worked at New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary practices and the geography. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. As a child in the upstate of New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by food and cooking at an early age. The Culinary Institute of America sparked her interest in restaurant management after she earned an English/Communications degree at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She says "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I enjoyed every moment." It was impossible to learn and do enough or put in the hours. After graduation, chef Burrell went on to spend one period of time in Italy taking classes at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. While in Italy Burrell developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian food and culture. This will have a significant impact on the way that Burrell prepares her food. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in children's lives who are facing challenges. She is also a Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador where she advocates for education about juvenile diabetes. Burrell is often a guest speaker at conferences and travels throughout the United States as part of her mentorship task. Through her culinary adventures, Anne often says that she feels very fortunate to share what I love most for life with people.
